Russians are infiltrating Pokrovsk and crippling the Ukrainian logistics – DeepState analysis

Russian forces are continuing to infiltrate Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast, expanding their infantry presence and sabotage operations, according to Ukrainian military analysts from DeepState.

The group reports that Russia has been trying to breach the city since July, exploiting weak points near Zvirove, Shevchenko, and along the Kotlyne–Pokrovsk railway. Several hundred Russian troops are now operating inside the city, planting explosives, ambushing Ukrainian units, and using drones to disrupt logistics and supply routes.

DeepState warned that Russian advances have already disrupted key routes toward Myrnohrad and urged urgent large-scale clearance operations to prevent further losses. The analysts described the situation in Pokrovsk as nearing a critical stage.

Ukraine closeв embassy in Cuba due to the Russian military recruitment

Ukraine has closed its embassy in Havana and downgraded diplomatic relations with Cuba over the recruitment of Cuban citizens to fight for Russia, Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced on October 29.

He said the decision followed Cuba’s inaction over what Ukraine described as “massive recruitment” of its citizens to the Russian army, adding that thousands of Cubans are fighting against Ukraine.

Kyiv’s move came the same day it voted against a UN resolution calling to end the U.S. embargo on Cuba. Sybiha said the vote was directed at Cuba’s authorities, not its people, accusing Havana of complicity in Russia’s war.

U.S. intelligence previously estimated that between 1,000 and 5,000 Cubans have fought in Ukraine. Ukraine’s military intelligence agency confirmed at least 1,076 fighters.

Presidential Office Head Andriy Yermak said Cuba has become a “strategic asset” for Russia, helping it evade sanctions and supporting its war efforts.

Reports indicate that many Cubans were recruited through fake job ads promising construction work in Russia, then given only brief training before deployment to the front. Despite earlier denials from Havana, Cuba continues to maintain close ties with Moscow, recently joining the BRICS group as a partner nation.
