A voice of Ukraine to the West

The fall of Pokrovsk is a matter of days, or two weeks at most

Le Monde, citing the Ukrainian Armed Forces, reports that Pokrovsk will likely last no longer than two weeks. According to Ukrainian soldiers, there has been no normal supply for weeks, and the city has been completely cut off for several days now. No vehicles can get through. A town like Pokrovsk, given its size, numerous tall buildings, and factories with thick walls, could hold out for months, even years; it is a fortress. Ukrainian unit still controls the neighborhood, where no Russians have entered, but the fighting is becoming more intense. In just a few days, they have penetrated all areas, says the officer. As soon as Ukrainian units destroy a group of ten soldiers, another one immediately takes their place. Same with drones, Ukrainians destroy a drone post? It reappears somewhere else. Their resources seem to be inexhaustible.

As Russian infantry infiltrates southern districts and encircles Myrnohrad to the west, Le Monde warns that this "desperate" standoff—fueled by Moscow's 8:1 manpower edge—could herald Ukraine's most devastating defeat of the war, underscoring the human cost of defending a vital logistics node at any price.

Russians attacked Kamianske in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, killing one, injuring eight and causing fire

A large-scale Russian drone strike on the city of Kamianske in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. A body of one man was discovered under the rubble, eight people sustained injuries. The attack caused a fire at the scene. Acting Regional Governor Vladyslav Haivanenko reported.

The attack damaged infrastructure, a transport company, and several cars. Part of the roof and ceilings of a four-story residential building collapsed.

Russians occupy Pavlivka in Zaporizhia oblast and advance near six settlements

Russian forces have captured the village of Pavlivka in Zaporizhzhia Oblast and advanced near six other settlements, according to the Ukrainian military analysis group DeepState.

The group reported that Russian troops also made gains near Balahan, Udachne, and Stupochky in Donetsk Oblast, as well as in Plavni, Prymorske, and Uspenivka in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

Balahan, located near Myrnohrad and close to Pokrovsk, is part of one of the most intense areas of fighting. Russian forces are concentrating their efforts on entering Pokrovsk and securing control, which could isolate Myrnohrad from Ukrainian-held territory if the city falls.

Norway will allocate $7 billion in aid to Ukraine next year

Norway will provide Ukraine with $7 billion in 2026 to support its defense sector, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced on X on November 5.

Shmyhal, currently visiting Norway, met with Norwegian Defense Minister Tore O. Sandvik, thanking him for the country’s “weighty contribution” and continued support for Ukraine.

During the visit, Sandvik invited Ukraine to participate for the first time in a meeting of defense ministers of the Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF).

Following the talks, the two sides signed a memorandum establishing unified quality standards for defense products produced or supplied under joint agreements. Another memorandum between Ukrainian and Norwegian companies will launch joint defense production within Ukraine.

Shmyhal said discussions also focused on strengthening air defense, enhancing long-range strike capabilities, and cooperation against attack drones, noting that Ukraine is ready to share its battlefield experience.

“I am grateful to the government and the people of Norway for their significant contribution,” Shmyhal said.
