Russian attack on the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast 1 killed and injured eleven, including children

One person was killed and 11 others injured, including two children, in Russian attacks on Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, regional authorities reported.

Acting Governor Vladyslav Haivanenko said Russian forces struck the Mykolaivka community in the Synelnykove district with a missile and a drone. A 65-year-old woman was killed, and eight people were injured. Among them, a 15-year-old boy will receive outpatient care, while a five-year-old girl and two adults are in critical condition. Fires broke out at a café, a house, and a car, and 12 homes were damaged.

The Vasylkivka community was hit by a guided bomb, damaging several cars. In the Nikopol district, Russian troops attacked with artillery, Grad rockets, and FPV drones, injuring three men aged 43, 51, and 52. They will be treated at home.

A Russian drone also struck infrastructure in Pavlohrad, while Ukrainian air defenses shot down nine drones over the oblast.

Russia switches to year-round conscription from the next year

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law introducing year-round military conscription, according to Russia’s official legal portal on Nov. 4.

The change replaces the previous system of two annual draft periods, though conscripts will still be called up during the spring and autumn windows. Military offices and medical commissions, however, will now operate continuously.

The law aims to reduce pressure on enlistment offices, said Andrei Kartapolov, head of the parliament’s Defense Committee.

Although conscripts are officially barred from being sent abroad, many are reportedly coerced into signing contracts with the Defense Ministry and sent to fight in Ukraine.

Putin’s 2022 mobilization — the first since World War II — sparked protests and drove over 261,000 Russians to flee. Despite Kremlin claims that mobilization is over, no decree has formally ended it.

The Kremlin has since relied on paid recruitment campaigns and bonuses to attract new contract soldiers for the war in Ukraine.

Ukraine's Defence Intelligence revealed details of special operation in Pokrovsk as heavy fighting are going on

Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence (DIU) said its special operation in Pokrovsk, Donetsk Oblast, is still underway, with elite units countering Russian efforts to gain fire control over key supply routes.

The DIU reported that its Tymur special unit continues to fight in a strategically important district of the city. After an airborne assault, additional forces joined operatives who had broken through and secured key positions on the ground.

The ongoing operation aims to prevent Russian troops from expanding their fire advantage over frontline logistics routes.

Other DIU special units are also active in the area, though details are being withheld for security reasons. The agency said the mission is being carried out in coordination with Ukraine’s wider security and defence forces.
