Ukraine has received more Patriot systems, thanks to Germany - Zelensky
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine has received additional Patriot air defense systems from Germany, thanking Chancellor Merz and the German government for fulfilling their commitments.
Zelenskyy said the new systems are already being deployed, but stressed that Ukraine still needs more to protect its critical infrastructure and major cities. He added that Kyiv continues to negotiate with governments and defense manufacturers to strengthen its air defense network.
He emphasized that effective protection from Russian attacks requires a multi-layered approach, combining fighter jets such as Gripens, French aircraft, and upcoming F-16s, with missile systems, mobile fire units, and interceptor drones. Zelenskyy noted that drone interceptor production is on track to meet this year’s targets, and efforts to train additional operators are underway.

The occupiers are exerting relentless pressure within the urban area, deploying specialized subunits trained for assaults in densely built-up environments, which has complicated the defense efforts and left the situation on this sector precarious and fluid.
