A voice of Ukraine to the West
Ukraine has evidence of Russia providing intelligence to Iran - Zelensky
Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine has “irrefutable evidence” that Russia continues to share intelligence with Iran, citing findings presented during a meeting with military intelligence chief Oleh Ivashchenko. In a post on Telegram, Zelensky said Russia is using its own electronic and signals intelligence capabilities, along with information from partners in the Middle East, to support Tehran amid escalating regional tensions.
The statement comes as cooperation between Russia and Iran has deepened, particularly during the war in Ukraine, where Tehran has supplied drones and other military equipment to Russian forces. It also follows a report by Politico that Moscow allegedly proposed limiting intelligence sharing with Iran in exchange for the United States reducing support for Ukraine—an offer Washington reportedly rejected.
Zelensky also warned that Russia plans to expand its drone warfare infrastructure, including deploying additional ground control stations in occupied Ukrainian territories and in Belarus. He said Ukraine has shared this intelligence with its Western partners and added that Russian officials continue to exaggerate battlefield gains in an effort to strengthen their position in ongoing negotiations.
The US eyes a Trump-Lukashenko White House meeting amid warming of the relationship
The United States is considering inviting Alexander Lukashenko to meet with President Donald Trump at the White House or Mar-a-Lago, according to John Coale, the U.S. special envoy for Belarus, in an interview with the Financial Times published March 23. Coale said discussions are ongoing and acknowledged that “a lot of work” remains before such a visit could take place, but suggested progress is being made.
The potential meeting would signal a major shift in Washington’s approach to Belarus after years of diplomatic isolation following the government’s crackdown on protests in 2020. Coale’s recent visit to Minsk was followed by the release of hundreds of political prisoners and a partial easing of U.S. sanctions targeting key Belarusian financial institutions. Lukashenko has also said Washington proposed a broader “big deal,” though details remain unclear.
Despite these developments, Belarus remains closely aligned with Russia and has supported Moscow during its war in Ukraine. Analysts note that any rapprochement with the U.S. would mark a return to a more balanced foreign policy for Lukashenko, who has ruled Belarus since 1994, but significant political and strategic obstacles remain.
Africa will supply gas to Ukraine as talks are underway
Volodymyr Zelensky said he discussed potential gas supplies with Daniel Chapo, the president of Mozambique, as Ukraine seeks to strengthen its energy security. Writing on X, Zelensky noted that Ukraine is interested in additional energy imports, while Mozambique is looking to benefit from Ukrainian expertise in security and counterterrorism technologies.
The two leaders also explored broader areas of cooperation, including digitalization and food security, and agreed to have their teams continue working on concrete initiatives. The talks reflect Ukraine’s ongoing efforts to diversify its energy sources amid continued attacks on infrastructure.
The discussions come as Orlen, Poland’s state-owned energy company, plans to supply more than 1 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Ukraine in 2026, highlighting Kyiv’s push to secure stable energy partnerships with international partners.
