Three killed and 19 injured including 2 children in Russian attack on Kharkiv

Russian forces launched a large-scale overnight attack on Kharkiv on June 7, using Shahed drones, missiles, and guided aerial bombs. At least three people were killed and 19 injured, including two children — one just a month old, officials confirmed.
Regional Governor Oleh Syniehubov said civilian infrastructure was hit across the city, including a nine-story apartment building, a private home, and a local enterprise. Emergency teams are still working to rescue people trapped under the rubble.
Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported that the Osnovianskyi and Kyiv districts were among the hardest hit. Local media recorded over 40 explosions as 48 Shahed drones, two missiles, and four KAB bombs rained down on the city.
The strike marks another deadly night in Russia’s intensifying campaign against civilian areas far from the front lines.
"We are not children in the park with Putin, he is a murderer" - Zelensky responded to Trump
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy pushed back against a recent comment by U.S. President Donald Trump, who likened the war between Russia and Ukraine to “kids fighting in a park.”
In an interview with ABC, Zelenskyy rejected the comparison outright.
“We’re not kids playing with Putin at a park. He’s a murderer who came to that park to kill the kids,” Zelenskyy said.
Zelenskyy emphasized that no one far from the war can fully grasp the scale of human suffering in Ukraine.
“It’s not just about President Trump. It’s about anyone thousands of miles away — they simply cannot feel and understand this pain,” he added.
He noted that at least 631 children have been killed in Ukraine since Russia’s full-scale invasion began.
Russia launched 215 drones and 9 missiles to attack Ukraine overnight
Russia launched 215 aerial weapons against Ukraine overnight on June 6–7, but 174 failed to reach their targets, according to Ukraine’s Air Force.
The barrage included 206 Shahed drones, two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, six Kh-59/69 missiles, and one Iskander-K cruise missile.
Ukrainian air defenses shot down 87 Shahed drones, while 80 more were neutralized by electronic warfare. All six Kh-59/69 missiles and the Iskander-K cruise missile were also intercepted or lost due to EW systems.
Strikes hit 10 locations, with debris reported in seven additional areas.
