A maternity hospital in Zaporizhzhia was struck

Today, Russian forces launched a drone attack on a maternity hospital in the southern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia, injuring at least six people, according to local authorities. Zaporizhzhia Oblast Governor Ivan Fedorov reported that the strike occurred around noon, with the number of casualties rising to six. Among the injured were women undergoing medical examinations at the facility. The attack caused a fire in the gynecology department, which emergency services quickly extinguished. All victims received medical assistance, and patients, including those in labor, as well as medical staff, had taken shelter prior to the strike.

Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha condemned the strike, stating that it demonstrated Russia's continued aggression against civilians despite peace efforts. He emphasized that "Putin can only be stopped by force" and called for sustained pressure on Moscow.

Later today, another Russian drone strike hit a residential area in Zaporizhzhia, injuring two women and a four-year-old child, bringing the total injured in the city to at least nine. This incident highlights the ongoing targeting of civilian infrastructure in Ukraine amid the war.
