Russian forces regroup in Kherson Oblast, defend themselves on two fronts – General Staff report.

Russians regroup forces on the Kherson front, defend themselves on the Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia fronts and continue the offensive on the Bakhmut front. Meanwhile, occupiers try to improve their tactical position on Kupiansk, Lyman and Avdiivka fronts.

Over the course of the past 24 hours, Russian troops launched 35 airstrikes, in particular using Shahed-136 UAVs, all of which have been downed by the units of the Defence Forces of Ukraine. Occupiers also used multiple launcher rocket systems to attack Kherson city children’s hospital 16 times.

On the Volyn, Polissia, Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna fronts, the situation is stable, there are no signs of formation of Russian offensive groups.

On the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna fronts, the Russian army used artillery to attack areas of the settlements of Buchky and Yasna Poliana in Chernihiv Oblast; Novovasylivka, Vyntorivka, Chernatske, Ulanove, Studenok, Khodyne, Iskryskivshchyna, Krasnopillia and Uhroidy in Sumy Oblast and Morokhovets, Zelene, Starytsia, Ohirtseve, Mala Vovcha, Milove, Vovchansk, Dvorichna, Moskovka and Kamianka in Kharkiv Oblast.

Russian missiles hit one of DTEK’s thermal power plants on New Year’s Eve.

One of the thermal power plants of the DTEK company has been damaged as a result of another Russian missile attack on New Year’s Eve.

Yesterday evening, Russia continued to launch full-scale missile attacks on civilian and energy facilities of Ukraine. One of the energy facilities of DTEK Energo has been again affected by the enemy shelling," DTEK states.

DTEK company also adds that this is the 23rd terrorist attack of the Russian Federation during which the company’s equipment has been damaged.

Russians attack Zaporizhzhia Oblast, one person dead, three injured.

Woman dies after sustaining injury in Russian attack on Khmelnytskyi.

Serhii Hamalii, Head of Khmelnytskyi Oblast Military Administration, has reported that a 22-year-old woman injured in the city of Khmelnytskyi as a result of a Russian attack on 31 December has died.

Hamalii reported on 31 December that eight civilians were hospitalised after Russian attacks.
