Morning Russian missile attack on Ukraine

On February 15 Russia launched a widespread missile assault on various regions in Ukraine, resulting in at least 11 reported injuries and extensive damage to homes and civilian infrastructure, according to regional officials.

Ukraine's Air Force disclosed that 26 missiles, including Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 air-launched cruise missiles, Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, Kalibr sea-launched cruise missiles, Kh-59 guided air-launched missiles, and S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles, were deployed in the attack. Remarkably, 13 of these missiles were successfully intercepted by Ukrainian air defenses.

Kyiv

During the early morning hours, Kyiv faced a severe threat as enemy forces launched a missile attack targeting the capital. Head of the Kyiv Military Administration, Serhiy Popko, reported that air defense systems were actively engaged on the approaches to Kyiv. The enemy directed missiles of various types from different directions toward the city.

In a reassuring update, Popko conveyed that all enemy missiles heading towardten Kyiv were successfully intercepted and destroyed by the vigilant air defense forces. According to the available operational information, there were no reported casualties or destruction in the capital. Importantly, the city's life support system is reported to be functioning normally.

Expressing gratitude, Popko acknowledged and commended the exemplary work of the air defense troops for their swift and effective response, ensuring the safety and resilience of the capital in the face of this hostile missile threat. The successful interception reflects the dedication and capability of the defense forces in safeguarding the city and its residents.

As of 8:00 a.m., the Kyiv Regional Military Administration disclosed that falling fragments from missiles had been identified in two settlements within one of the districts of the region. The aftermath of this incident included damage to seven private houses, multiple outbuildings, and a car. The affected homes suffered broken windows, damaged facades, and compromised roofs due to the impact of the falling fragments.

In response to the situation, the Regional Military Administration assured the affected residents that they would receive all necessary assistance. Collaborating with local communities, efforts were pledged to provide support and aid to those whose homes and properties were impacted by the missile fragments. This commitment reflects a joint initiative to address the immediate needs of the affected individuals and facilitate recovery in the aftermath of the incident.

At dawn, the city of Lviv faced a missile attack perpetrated by occupiers, with the air defense forces actively engaged in the region. Despite their effective response, Mayor Andriy Sadovyi reported that there was still an impact, providing preliminary information that more than ten missiles were launched on the region. While the air defense successfully managed the majority of the attack, one missile hit an infrastructure facility.

The consequences of this strike were evident, particularly on Naukova Street, where a blast wave blew out windows in residential buildings. The damage extended to 18 residential buildings, with over 400 windows shattered. Additionally, two schools, a kindergarten, and parked cars in the vicinity were also affected.

Head of the Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozitsky, reported that a fire broke out at the site of the hit on the infrastructure object, further complicating the aftermath of the attack.

Tragically, two individuals were injured as a result of the missile strike. A man and a woman, residents of houses on Naukova Street, sustained lacerations, and on-site assistance was provided to them. Another man, residing in one of the damaged buildings, was hospitalized with a hematoma above the eyebrow. The incident highlights the human toll and the immediate impact on the local population as a consequence of the missile attack on Lviv.

Poltava region

The occupiers carried out a missile strike on the Poltava region. A warehouse in Myrhorod district was hit. As a result of the strike, a fire broke out covering an area of 100 square meters. There were no casualties or injuries.

Dnipro region

In the early hours of Thursday, the adversary launched missile attacks on the Dnipropetrovsk region, causing audible explosions in the area. The Head of the Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak, reported that the air defense forces successfully intercepted two missiles in the Nikopol and Novomoskovsk districts.

Despite the interception success, there were confirmed hits in the Dniprovsky district. The missile strike resulted in damage to an infrastructure object, though fortunately, there were no reported casualties. The incident underscores the ongoing challenges faced by the region, emphasizing the importance of air defense efforts in mitigating the impact of missile attacks and safeguarding the local population.

Khmelnytskyi region

Explosions rocked the Khmelnytskyi region, prompting Deputy Head of the Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Tyurin, to report damage to civilian objects. Subsequently, Tyurin conveyed that air defense forces successfully intercepted an aerial target in the Khmelnytskyi region, resulting in a private house catching fire. Emergency services are actively engaged at the scene.

Tragically, Tyurin also reported three victims as a consequence of the incident. A man born in 1992 and a woman born in 1971 are in moderate condition, while a woman born in 1939 is in a state of shock. The toll on human life and well-being underscores the grave impact of the explosions and emphasizes the urgency of addressing the aftermath of such incidents in the region.

Zaporizhia

The missile attack on Zaporizhzhia resulted in the impact on an infrastructure object, causing damage to apartment buildings, an educational institution, and the premises of a trade object. The extent of the damage includes broken windows and damaged roofs. Emergency services and relevant authorities are actively engaged at the scene, working to address the aftermath of the attack.

Preliminary data indicates that four people were injured as a result of the missile strike. The toll on human lives underscores the immediate consequences of such attacks and highlights the need for prompt and effective responses to mitigate the impact on the affected community.

Ivano - Frankivsk region

During the air alert, explosions were heard in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. The air defense was operating, and the sky defenders successfully intercepted an enemy target.

As a result of the debris falling, there was minor roof burning in some outbuildings. The fire was successfully extinguished. There were no casualties or significant destruction.
